The 2019 BMW X3 M is currently in works, but we have been lucky to catch its camouflaged prototype somewhere on the streets.
The 2019 BMW X3 M will be based on the next-gen 2018 X3, which will debut sometime this year. The X3 M will compete with the likes of Porsche Macan Turbo and Mercedes-AMG GLC63.
Looking at the spy shots, we can see the 2019 BMW X3 M boasts a wider and much larger wheelbase design. The 20-inch wheels, according to the photographer, add a sporty look the SUV.
Up front, the spied X3 M has a large intake and dual kidney grille with a hexagonal mesh pattern. At the back, the BMW M’s exclusive quad-exhaust tips can be seen.
The BMW X3 M will most likely carry a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 cylinder engine borrowed from either the M2 or M3/M4. If it adopts the unit from the M3/M4 models, the X3 M will generate 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission system and it will be an all-wheel drive SUV.
Expect the official launch sometime in 2018.
