Mercedes has introduced the updated AMG GT 4-Door coupe for the 2022 model year.  The performance sedan gets small changes both inside and out along with a new Manufaktur Exclusive Edition and some vibrant shades.

The Manufaktur Exclusive Edition is a totally new model for the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe sporting Rubellite Red metallic shade combined with a silver chrome exterior package, and trim-exclusive 21-inch AMG wheels. Inside, it comes with Neva Grey Exclusive Nappa leather with Ash wood trim and a new AMG Performance steering wheel.

All the models in the 2022 Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door now feature the new AMG Performance steering wheel together with a twin-spoke design up top, drive mode dials and flawlessly positioned buttons. There is an option of either Nappa leather or Nappa with Dinamica suede for the wheel itself, with heating accessible on V6 and regular V8 versions.

There are plenty of leather trim choices inside including Sienna Brown, Classic Red, Yacht Blue, Deep White, and the previously stated Neva Grey. Buyers can also opt for Exclusive Nappa Leather in Titanium Grey Pearl with yellow contrast stitching, or Exclusive Auburn Brown Nappa leather with black diamond stitching. Moreover, the 2022 Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door gives a five-seat layout for the first time with an elective rear bench.

The 43 and 53 AMG GT-4 model carry the old turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six mills with EQ Boost generating 362 horsepower (270 kilowatts) and 429 horsepower (320 kilowatts), respectively. With this power, the GT 43 can accelerate to 96 kilometres per hour in 4.8 seconds, while the GT 53 does the same sprint in 4.4 seconds. Talking about the V8-powered 63 and 63 S models, the automaker didn’t provide technical specifications yet.

While the specs of the V8 model are a secret, we do know that it will house a completely revised adaptive suspension. The upgraded AMG Ride Control Plus now employs two pressure limiting valves to manage the multi-chamber air suspension system. One valve controls rebound damping, while the other organizes compression damping. The company believes the updated suspension will make driving easier. It will be more comfortable in the Comfort mode and feel more powerful in the Sport and Sport Plus modes.

The new 2022 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door will hopefully hit the roads before the end of this year. The pricing information is not out yet, but expect a bump all around. For reference, the 2021 model costs $89,900 at least for the base model.
