We presumed the R8 GT RWD marked the finale for Audi’s high-performance vehicle, yet that assumption is unfounded. An upcoming Final Edition, centered on the coupe, is set to debut in Japan with a limited release of just eight units. Finished in a non-reflective Ibis White, this mid-engine marvel delivers enhanced performance and aesthetic appeal.
The R8 Japan Final Edition showcases 20-inch wheels featuring matte bronze spokes, meticulously polished to evoke a golden hue, complemented by crimson calipers accenting the ceramic brakes. Carbon fiber adorns the mirror caps, as well as the front spoiler lip and side blades. Furthermore, the rear wing, diffuser, and side skirts undergo the same treatment for a lightweight touch.
Audi Japan introduced some alterations to the interior, where the driver-centric cockpit features a dual-color palette comprising Ebony and Ivory. The seats are enveloped in high-quality leather, while the roof liner and the region behind the seats are adorned with a special fabric. Completing the adjustments is the door threshold embellishment signifying the exclusiveness of the model. Purchasers of the vehicle also get a special plate displaying the VIN.
Referred to formally as the Audi R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition, the conclusive chapter of this high-performance car is priced at 35,080,000 yen. Considering the current currency exchange rates, this translates to roughly $247,000.
The R8 is on the verge of being retired, following the path of Audi’s other high-performance car, the TT. The last Tourist Trophy was put together in November, but Audi has suggested that these iconic nameplates might make a comeback in the future as entirely electric models, though it’s advisable not to anticipate their return anytime soon.
