Honda has updated its minivan Odyssey for the 2021 model year giving it a new appearance and more safety features. The 2021 Honda Odyssey will make its public debut at the New York Auto Show. Honda is offering four trim levels namely EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite for the US markets.
Comparing it to the ongoing model, the new Odyssey gets modified LED headlights with the running lights now positioned at the corner sporting more visible lamps. The front grille is black as usual with a chrome strip at the top. The lower part of the bumper features an inlet in the center and packed foglights at their corners. The range-topping Elite now sports restyled 19-inch wheels and auto-dimming side mirrors.
The best thing in the new model is the standard Honda Sensing driver-assistance suite. This suite now also has adaptive cruise control with low-speed-following and pedestrian emergency braking. Moreover, it includes a new rear-seat reminder with the sound alert for the driver. The Touring and Elite variants also get the CabinWatch camera that renders display of the rear seats.
The interior changes encompass a new styling for the climate controls, tri-color floor mats, and illuminated USB ports for the EX. The EX-L and higher trims have the seats with contrast stitching, power lumbar support for the front passenger seat, and storage pockets in the second-row seatback. The Touring and Elite have piano black trim protecting the dashboard, doors, and front door handles.
Unfortunately, the automaker didn’t add any new powertrain option. It still houses a 3.5L V6 good for 280 horsepower, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey will hit the road in the last quarter of this year. The pricing details will be revealed before the market launch. For reference, the ongoing Odyssey starts at AED 142,900.
