2023 Lexus RZ Electric Secretly Gets Pricing, Starting At $59,650

Despite not making a formal announcement, it’s no secret that Lexus has unveiled the pricing for their highly anticipated 2023 RZ all-electric crossover. A quick visit to their official website will confirm it – the headline proudly declares, “The 2023 RZ Electric”. With a starting price of $59,650 (comprising destination fees), it’s certainly a noteworthy figure. However, it’s somewhat surprising that Lexus chose not to make a formal announcement regarding the cost of the RZ. The curious nature of the pricing only adds to the intrigue surrounding this cutting-edge vehicle.

It’s immediately noticeable that the starting price for the 2023 Lexus RZ all-electric crossover is a hefty $10,000 more than the Toyota bZ4X, which shares an almost identical design. In comparison to the Subaru Solterra, the RZ is a staggering $15,000 more, despite the Solterra coming standard with all-wheel drive. While Lexus buyers are treated to a luxurious interior with premium materials and a larger touchscreen display, the question remains: are these upgrades worth the substantial price increase? With 308 collective horsepower from the two motors, the RZ certainly packs more power than the 215 horsepower offered by the bZ4X and Solterra. However, whether these upgrades alone are enough to justify a cost of nearly $60,000 is still up for debate.

Here’s where things get even more intriguing. The only way to secure the RZ 450e at the base price of $59,650 is to opt for the Caviar black exterior color. All other hues start at $60,150, with the exception of the Black Onyx two-tone models paired with either blue or gray, which have a starting price of $60,850. This pricing structure remains consistent even when upgrading to the RZ Luxury model costing $65,150. Keep in mind, for the 2023 model year, Lexus only offers the Premium and Luxury variants.

Numerous standard equipment, including the top-tier Mark Levinson 13-speaker audio system and power-heated seats, are present in the Luxury trim. The optional additions, such as the “activity mount” under the rear bumper, offer some degree of customisation. This receiver hitch appears to be ineffective and can barely carry 110 pounds while towing. Instead, Lexus highlights its ability to add accessories like bike carriers or baggage baskets. For those who want even more customization, additional options include a dash cam ($375), a radiant Lexus grille emblem ($200), and lit door sills ($460).

If you want all the bells and whistles on the Lexus RZ 450e Luxury, you’ll be looking at a grand total of $72,209. For that price, you’ll get a compact all-electric crossover with a robust 308 horsepower and a range of up to 225 miles on a single charge. You can place your order now online through Lexus’s official website.
