Dodge Challenger Black Ghost Is An 807-HP Beast

The sixth muscle car in the Last Call special edition is here, and Dodge named it the Challenger Black Ghost. It is named after a black-coloured 1970 Dodge Challenger featuring a 426 Hemi V8. There is a story behind this car, but we will not go into that detail for now. We will focus purely on the 2023 Black Ghost.

Similar to the Dodge Charger King Daytona, the Ghost Edition isn’t built on the Scat Pack. Here again, Dodge chose the Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody and put the famous supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in it, generating a monstrous 807 horsepower.

In the recent Challenger lineup, this is what the SRT Super Stock pumps out that came two years ago. It was a limited edition model, and so is the Black Ghost. Dodge plans to produce 300 examples, and all will sport black paint, as the car name implies.

So, what else is there apart from the extra power? Of course, we get a range of exterior and interior upgrades reminding us of the original Challenger Black Ghost. It starts with the gator skin vinyl pattern on the roof, opposing white stripes on quarter panels, written Challenger symbols on the fenders, and chrome Dodge marking on the hood’s nose. In addition, we see the SRT badge fixed on the grille, and 20-inch wheels perform the propulsion duty. The interior of course has Black Ghost marking at different places as well as Alcantara on the seats, steering wheel, etc.

“There are so many legendary muscle cars in Dodge brand history, it was hard to choose the seven vehicles we wanted to pay homage to with our Last Call lineup, but the Black Ghost was an easy pick,” stated Dodge Brand CEO Tim Kuniskis. “The 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost is the prelude to what we’re going to unveil with our seventh and final special-edition model.”

If you have been following the Last Call special edition models, we have been providing details of all the models since August. Dodge first unveiled the Challenger Shakedown followed by Charger Super Bee and two Swinger models for the Charger and the Challenger.

The fifth Last Call model (King Daytona) was introduced last week, and now we are all set for the final model that will be showcased at the 2022 SEMA Show in November.

Seeing the previous Last Call models, which came with extra splendor for every new iteration in the series, we believe the last one would be the most exclusive of all. We expect it to be the most powerful in the Last Call series, with probably 900 horsepower, using E85. It will be the last gas-powered muscle car from Dodge before electrification prevails.
